Extension Not Loading

If Messenger Organizer is installed but the overlay (folder dropdowns, + icons, template button) isn't appearing inside Facebook, Instagram, or Skool, walk through this list.

Quick checks (do these first)​

  1. Reload the tab with Ctrl+F5 / Cmd+Shift+R. The extension only attaches when the page loads.
  2. Click the Messenger Organizer icon in your toolbar and confirm you're logged in. If you see a login screen, log in and reload the tab.
  3. Check your subscription — if your free trial has expired, certain features (and menu items) are hidden until you upgrade.

"The folder dropdowns don't appear inside Messenger"​

Possible causes:

  • The Facebook UI updated and Messenger Organizer hasn't matched it yet (usually fixed within a day).
  • You're not logged into Messenger Organizer — click the toolbar icon and check.
  • Browser cache is stale — try Ctrl+F5 hard refresh.

Fix order:

  1. Hard refresh the tab.
  2. Log out of Messenger Organizer (popup → log out) and log back in.
  3. Disable and re-enable the extension at chrome://extensions/.
  4. Uninstall and reinstall from the Chrome Web Store.

"It works on Facebook but not Instagram (or Skool)"​

This is almost always Step 1: reload the IG/Skool tab. The extension is platform-aware and only attaches when each domain's page loads.

If that doesn't work:

  • Make sure you're actually on instagram.com or skool.com (not a logged-out preview).
  • Check that the URL doesn't include ?fbclid= or other tracking junk that occasionally breaks Instagram's page detection — strip the URL down to instagram.com/direct/inbox/ and try again.

"The dashboard opens but is blank or stuck on the loading bar"​

Fix:

  1. Open the dashboard, then refresh it (Ctrl+R).
  2. Open Chrome DevTools (F12) → Console tab. If you see a red error, screenshot it for support.
  3. Try logging out and back in from the popup.
  4. As a last resort, uninstall and reinstall the extension. Your data is in the cloud — folders and leads will come back automatically.

"I see the menu items but they're grayed out / locked"​

Some features are part of the Pro plan:

  • Skool CRM
  • Skool Schedule Messages
  • Notifications Calendar
  • Auto Responder
  • Friend Request Responder
  • AI Content Generation

Fix: click the upgrade prompt that appears, or visit your account at messengerorganizer.com to upgrade.

"The extension icon is gray / inactive"​

Fix:

  1. Click the icon.
  2. If you see a login form, log in.
  3. If you see "subscription expired", upgrade or renew your trial.

"Chrome says the extension is corrupted"​

Fix:

  1. Go to chrome://extensions/.
  2. Click Repair next to Messenger Organizer.
  3. If there's no Repair button, click Remove, then reinstall from the Chrome Web Store.
  4. Log back in. Your data is safe in the cloud.
